Is computer art "cheating"? |
| |
No, it is not. Computer art is
simply a new form. Computer art is a mixture of inventive ideas
and computer techniques. Computer cannot do anything by its
self. It’s the human commanding it to do so. It is just
a wrong delusion when the media reports something was done "by"
a computer, when it was a really a human being using a computer
the way a painter uses a paintbrush. The computer is just a
tool. |

What is motion capture? |
| |
Motion capture is a technique in which the
computer records the movements of the performer. These movements
can be reproduced by a CG character either in real-time or after
the data has been processed (depending on how the data is sampled).
This helps in bringing the CG character close to real life by
giving the character more realistic and natural motion. A variation
of this technique uses an armature instead of a performer, and
movements are made and key framed the same way that stop-motion
animators have been doing it for many years. |

What resolution should I render my animations
in? |
| |
That depends on what the final media will
be. If it's going to remain on a computer screen (MPEG, Quicktime,
etc), then factors to consider are disk space, playback speed,
and memory requirements Sometimes it may also depend on the
recording device, if it will be transferred to video or film.
In such case it is best to ask whoever will be recording it
for you. |
